Hello! I'm Javan. Welcome to my portfolio page. I am a fifth grade teacher in Baltimore City and a candidate for a Masters of Science Degree in Education: Educational Studies. I currently teach fifth grade Math and Science and I have taught language arts in the past. My first year teaching, my students grew the most on their PARCC examination. Last year my students finished 20th on PARCC in Baltimore City and 5th on PARCC in traditional public schools in Baltimore City. I grew up in Baltimore and I eventually want to own my own charter school in Baltimore that offers my students free health care, has multiple teachers in the classroom, prepare students for college and their career all via a multi-culturally curriculum.
